Who we are

Wayshare lets groups plan trips and split expenses. We (Rexie Labs LLC) are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

• Account — your email address and/or phone number, your password (kept secure and never stored in plain text), and (optionally) your name and profile photo.
• Trip data — trips, expenses, settlements, votes, events and any photos you upload, and, if you turn on location sharing, your device's approximate location.
• Invited contacts — the name and phone number or email of people you invite, used only to send the invite.
• Technical — basic technical information such as your IP address, general device and browser type, and timestamps, kept to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

We use your information only to provide and run Wayshare — to sign you in, verify your contact details, send invites and one-time codes, keep group balances and itineraries correct, show the trip map and (only when you turn it on) your shared location, and keep the service secure. We don't use it for advertising or to build profiles of you.

We don't sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we never share it with anyone for their own advertising or marketing. Wayshare is paid for by the people who use it — you are the customer, not the product.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the trusted providers that help us run Wayshare — for example to deliver text messages, show maps and look up the places and addresses you enter, monitor for errors, send email, and host the app. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and only to operate the service — never for their own purposes. Some may process data outside your country.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in, and we remember your light or dark theme preference in your browser. We don't use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies — so there's no consent banner to click through.

Keeping and deleting data

You can delete your account at any time from your profile; this erases your profile, login and contact details. Trip records others still rely on remain but are unlinked from you. When someone you invited joins, we drop the raw contact we held for the invite. Technical logs roll off on a short retention window.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and may object to certain processing. Email [email protected] and we'll respond.
