Who we are

Wayshare lets groups plan trips and split expenses. We (Rexie Labs LLC) are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: privacy@wayshare.live.

What we collect

• Account — your email address and/or phone number, a hashed password, and (optionally) your name and profile photo.
• Trip data — trips, expenses, settlements, votes, events and any photos you upload, and, if you turn on location sharing, your device's approximate location.
• Invited contacts — the name and phone number or email of people you invite, used only to send the invite.
• Technical — IP address, browser/user-agent and timestamps in server logs, kept for security and debugging.

How we use it

To run the service: authenticate you, verify your contact details, send invites and one-time codes, and keep group balances correct. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data with third parties only to run Wayshare: Twilio (SMS delivery), Google Maps (maps, and geocoding of the places and addresses you enter), Sentry (error monitoring), and our email and hosting providers. They may be located outside your country.

Cookies

We use one essential, first-party cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember light/dark theme. No third-party tracking or analytics cookies — so no consent banner is needed.

Keeping and deleting data

You can delete your account at any time from your profile; this erases your profile, login and contact details. Trip records others still rely on remain but are unlinked from you. When someone you invited joins, we drop the raw contact we held for the invite. Server logs roll off on a short retention window.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and may object to certain processing. Email privacy@wayshare.live and we'll respond.
